Glorious Grains: Exploring New Tastes and Nutritional Qualities

During this interactive, experiential workshop you will be invited to move beyond the well-simmered world of rice and quinoa to taste 7 other delicious whole grains. As we do so, we'll discuss the amazing nutritional qualities of whole grains, the benefits of rotating the kind of grains you consume throughout a month, and debunk some popular myths (like “grain brain”).

Immediately following the 2-hour workshop you will have the opportunity to make your own grain bowl using your grain of choice. Add a selection of yummy, freshly cooked veggies (some picked from the NCF fields), plus beans, nuts, seeds, and toppings. The grain bowl meal experience is optional.

Dinner for the Farm: 20th Anniversary Celebration

Join us to celebrate 20 years of sustainable farming, fresh food, and community education!

We will honor the Farm’s initial Board members and our 20-year Farm Manager, Greg Maslowe. Together, they, along with many other co-creators, brought the Farm to life and sparked two decades of meaningful contributions to the greater Newton community—work that continues to grow and inspire.
