Senior Medicinal Wellness Walk
Join herbalist Mo Katz-Christy for a slow meander through the fields of Newton Community Farm to learn how we can harvest local plants to use as medicine!
While this program is aimed at seniors it is open to anyone interested in learning about medicinal herbs.
Glorious Grains: Exploring New Tastes and Nutritional Qualities
During this interactive, experiential workshop you will be invited to move beyond the well-simmered world of rice and quinoa to taste 7 other delicious whole grains. As we do so, we'll discuss the amazing nutritional qualities of whole grains, the benefits of rotating the kind of grains you consume throughout a month, and debunk some popular myths (like “grain brain”).
Immediately following the 2-hour workshop you will have the opportunity to make your own grain bowl using your grain of choice. Add a selection of yummy, freshly cooked veggies (some picked from the NCF fields), plus beans, nuts, seeds, and toppings. The grain bowl meal experience is optional.
Farm Stand opening day
Our Farm Stand on Winchester street opens for the season on Saturday June 13th. We’ll be open Saturdays from 9am-1pm and Thursdays and Fridays from 2-6pm
Dinner for the Farm: 20th Anniversary Celebration
Join us to celebrate 20 years of sustainable farming, fresh food, and community education!
We will honor the Farm’s initial Board members and our 20-year Farm Manager, Greg Maslowe. Together, they, along with many other co-creators, brought the Farm to life and sparked two decades of meaningful contributions to the greater Newton community—work that continues to grow and inspire.

Annual Seedling Sale 2026
We sell 90 varieties of seedlings grown right here at Newton Community Farm at our annual seedling sale. We’re open Saturday May 16 and Sunday May 17, from 12-3 pm. In addition to our vegetable, herb, fruit, and flower seedlings, we’ll have soil amendments and NCF t-shirts for sale.
Forum—Planting Seeds of Hope
Join Newton Community Farm as we welcome Orion Kriegman, Executive Director of The Boston Food Forest Coalition (BFFC) to share the story of the creation and ongoing work of BFFC. Building on the Community Land Trust model, BFFC has now established 14 food forest parks in Boston. These third spaces build community resilience, engage democracy, and strengthen civil society all while transforming vacant lots into edible public parks.
